62 new social houses across three housing developments were officially opened on 7 November by Minister for Housing Darragh O’Brien.
22 social houses were opened at Collier’s Place in Duleek designed specifically for those with limited mobility

The Brambles in Duleek also opened its doors to 18 new social housing units on the same day by Darragh O’Brien.

Donore was the second Meath town that day to open its doors to new social housing which cost approximately €3.5m. 22 new homes were constructed in Staleen Park and they are expected to be occupied before christmas.

“I look forward to welcoming the residents to their new homes and to the communities of Duleek and Donore and I want to take this opportunity to wish each family every happiness in the years ahead as they make these developments their home and I encourage each and every one of them to play their part in contributing to their new local communities,” Meath Cathaoirleach Nick Killian said.
Council housing developments are expected to continue over the coming years as Meath County Council says they intend to spend €18,000,000 on acquiring land for council housing over the next three years.

A total of €4,591,634 on halting sites will be spent over the next three years and this is subject to government approval.
Retrofitting and improvement of homes to meet present-day energy standards will cost over €19,000,000 between 2023-2025 which will include energy upgrades, remedial works, pre-lets, and planned maintenance.
