SOSAD Ireland provided 4,683 counseling sessions in its centres in Meath last year.
SOSAD offer support and services for people who are struggling with suicidal ideation, self harming, depression, bereavement, stress and anxiety, or if you simply need to talk.
Their services include Counselling, Crisis Support and a 24/7 Helpline, which they provide in their six offices in Cavan, Louth, Monaghan, Louis and Meath;

In Meath, they see over 400 clients in Navan and in its two outreach centres located in Stamullen and Duleek, one day a week.
The main issues presented include depression/low mood (38%), anxiety (17%), relationship issues (10%).
SOSAD saw an increase of 30.35% nationally in hours spent supporting clients when compared to 2023. SOSAD provides services to thousands of people every year across multiple centres, while receiving zero government funding. The organisation is currently struggling to meet demands and has recently called on Former Minister of State in the Department of Health (Mental Health and Older People) Mary Butler for emergency funding.
The charity met with Minister Butler in November and claims that emergency funding was promised for November and December and there has been no funding allocated or communication from the Minster since.
Responding to SOSAD, Minister Butler has said that she has asked the HSÉ to keep her updated on the matter.
